The 6th Lomba Rancang Bendung Nasional (National Dam Design Competition) organized by the University of Mataram this year had the theme “Operational Optimization Innovation for the Landfill Dam Operations”. This competition was attended by various universities in Indonesia. The Baruna Anggajaya team consists of three members, namely Wahyu Mari Yunita (PTSP 2020), Muhammad Zaky Faishal (S1 TS 2021), and Bintang Fajar Ariyanto (S1 TS 2021) under the guidance of Qonaah lecturer Rizqi Fajriani, M.Eng. compete with 16 teams from various universities in Indonesia.

Preparation for the LRBN competition began in mid-August. At the proposal selection stage, participants were given dam design data including topographical data, hydrological data, geological data, and soil test data. With this data, the participants had to design an embankment dam with the conditions given by the committee. The design title adopted by the Baruna Anggajaya team is Planning for the Urugan Anggajaya Dam which is Innovative and Optimal according to the theme of the competition. Baruna Anggajaya team passed to the final stage and became the finalist with the best proposal value. The next stage of the competition was the preparation of the BIM animation video and presentation which took place at the University of Mataram, Lombok, NTB on 1-3 November 2022. The presentation was made in front of a jury consisting of Dr. Ery Setiawan, ST., MT. (Lecturer of Civil Engineering, University of Mataram); Arianto, ST., MT. (Tenaga Ahli Madya Bendungan dan SDA); Ida Wayan Amitaba, ST., MT. (PPK Perencanaan Bendungan, BWS Nusa Tenggara-1). At the announcement stage of the competition, the Baruna Anggajaya Team won first place as well as the winner in the “Most Innovative BIM Video Animation” category. The second place was won by the SuperTrap Team (Universitas Mataram) and the third place was won by the Vector Team (Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember). Details of the news can be seen here.
