The UKM Rekayasa Teknologi, Rancang Bangun Division team won 3rd place in the National Scientific Vaganza Writing Contest (October 25-28 2018) at Semarang State University. In this competition the UNY DRB Team, which consisted of students from the Department of Civil Engineering and Planning Education, namely Yeyen Yuristiary, Komang Ari Switara and Ibnu Pandu Ajie Nugroho with Supervisor Galeh Nur Indriatno P.P., M.Pd.

The theme raised in the competition was Young Generation Innovation through Science, Technology and Education in Facing Indonesia's Disruptive Era. This National Scientific Writing Contest was attended by several other universities such as UGM, UNNES, UB, TELKOM, UNDIP and so on. The UNY DRB Kresna team wrote a paper entitled "ABU GELIS "Bamboo Electric Roof Tile House": Earthquake-Resistant Bamboo House Innovations and Thermoelectric-Based Light Roof Tiles". Our innovation can minimize the victims of ruins due to earthquakes, reduce styrofoam waste in the surrounding environment and save electricity consumption in Indonesia.

The Scientific Vaganza activity began on October 25 with a Technical Meeting. On October 26, a 9-minute work presentation was held and a 15-minute question and answer session followed by Field Trip activities to the Alam Malon and Lawang Sewu tourist attractions on October 27 2018. The activity ended on October 28 2018 with a National Seminar and announcement of winners.

The results of the competition in full for 1st place is the Telkom University Team, 2nd place is the Brawijaya University Team, 3rd place is the Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta Team, 1st Runner Up is the Universitas Negeri Semarang Team, 2nd Place is the Brawijaya University Team and Best Poster is the Team Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. The message from the Kresna Team was "Our team has practiced and made a prototype for the presentation, even though there are many shortcomings, thank God we can do well". The Kresna team would like to thank all parties involved in this competition to achieve satisfying achievements.
