CIVIL ENGINEERING AND PLANNING EDUCATION FT UNY DELIVERS PROTOTYPE OF PORTABLE WASTAFEL TO PUSKESMAS DEPOK III SLEMAN

The Department of Civil Engineering and Planning Education (PTSP) of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta has submitted a prototype of the "Portable Step Sink" to the Puskesmas Depok III Sleman. The prototype was directly submitted by Nur Hidayat together with Dian Eksana Wibowo and received by the Head of the Puskesmas Depok III Sleman on Thursday April  30th 2020. This handover was a form of PTSP FT UNY's active role in handling Covid-19.

The prototype is the work of lecturers and students. The prototype was made by Muhammad Riza, Didik Setiawan, and Fauzan Surya Valistya under the guidance of Nur Hidayat, M.Pd., Dr. Slamet Widodo, Dr. Nuryadin, Dr. -Ing. Satoto E Nayono. "Initially, this prototype will be displayed in front of the UNY Faculty of Engineering so that the general public can see and use it for health purposes. It's just that, to provide greater benefits, the prototype was donated to the puskesmas. If desired, the public can still see this prototype at the Puskesmas Depok III in Sleman, which is not far from UNY," explained Nur Hidayat. Nur Hidayat also said that in addition to this prototype, the PTSP department had made 10 units of Portable Step Sinks to be handed over by UNY to 4 regencies in the Special Region of Yogyakarta within the framework of UNY's 56th Anniversary.

This Portable Step Sink is suitable for preventing the spread of Covid-19 because it has the advantage of not needing to be touched or operated by hand, just with your feet like when you step on a car pedal. There are two pedals that can be operated, namely, to open the water faucet and to dispense soap. In general, this Portable Sink is very suitable for use in public facilities such as hospitals/health centers, markets, mosques, terminals/stations, as well as minimarkets.
