The 2021 National Dam Design Contest has the theme of an Economical, Implementative, and Being Able to Control Drought Dam. The Baruna Nawasena team chaired by Suryatama Ageng Pamuji (S-1 Civil Engineering) and joined by two members, Novarida Nurul Sabrina (D-4 Civil Engineering) and Silmi Kaffah (D-4 Civil Engineering) submitted a proposal on October 16, 2021. Title What was appointed by the Baruna Nawasena Team was the Planning of the Nawasena Dam as Drought Control. The title was taken from the problems that have become people's concern in Indonesia regarding drought. The ever-increasing population and the ever-depleting water availability have made semi-arid regions in Indonesia experience a water crisis. Up to now, the development of water resources infrastructure is still limited to ensure the availability of clean water because it requires a large source of funds. Therefore, this proposed paper aims to provide an alternative for dam construction that is economical, implementable, and can control drought.

On October 23, 2021, the Wisanggeni 19 Team was declared to have passed the final and then began carrying out the video rendering and presentation preparation process. On November 9, 2021, the final presentation stage will be held via Zoom Meeting with the judging jury as follows:

At the evaluation stage in this competition, the Baruna Nawasena Team managed to win 1st Place and win the Favorite Video Category. The 3rd place in the 2021 National Dam Design Competition was won by the Baruna Nawasena Team (Yogyakarta State University) in first place, the Kembang Komak Team (Universitas Mataram) in second place, and the Arkananta Team (Politeknik Pekerjaan Umum) in third place.
