Yogyakarta - The Department of Civil Engineering and Planning Education of UNY has again made achievements by obtaining various achievements at the national level. A national-scale competition in the field of civil engineering organized by the Politeknik Negeri Jakarta (PNJ) starts from May 2022-August 2022 with branches including the National Bridge Construction Competition (NBCC), National Paper Competition (NPC), National Concrete Competition (NCC), and National Building Maket Competition (NBMC). Two teams from the Department of Civil Engineering and Planning Education managed to qualify for the final round, namely the Bimasena Team in the National Bridge Construction Competition and the Baruna Green Way Team in the National Paper Competition.

The Bimasena team, chaired by Faisal Irfan Adhitama (S1 Civil Engineering 2021) and accompanied by two members, Wahyu Mari Yunita (S1 PTSP 2020) and Agus Bukhori Susilo (S1 Civil Engineering 2020) with supervisor Mr. Maris Setyo Nugroho, M.Eng., designed bridge design with the name Dorodjatun Bridge, a 1: 50 scale model bridge made of aluminum is designed with dimensions of 140 cm in length, 18 cm in width, and 31 cm in height. The competition was quite long, starting with the preparation of a proposal, then on July 22, 2022 the Bimasena team was declared to have passed to the final round along with 3 other teams consisting of the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Universitas Tidar Magelang, and Universitas Negeri Jakarta. In the final round, participants were asked to make a presentation regarding the design of the bridge that was designed before the jury on August 15 2022, and carry out the assembly and loading of the model bridge at the Politeknik Negeri Jakarta on August 18 2022.

At the assembly stage, the Bimasena Team succeeded in completing the fastest assembly and for loading the bridge using a running load with a 22.8 kg heavy truck, the result was a deflection value of 0.00 mm. At the end of the judging it was decided that the three teams that deserved to win the title in the National Bridge Construction Civil Engineering Festival 2022 in the first place went to the team from the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, the second place went to the team from Universitas Tidar Magelang. And the third position was won by the Universitas Negeri YogyakartaBimasena Team as well as the favorite Champion which was won based on the most design votes.
