The Unesa Civil Month Scientific Writing Competition 2021 has the theme “Environmentally Friendly Technology for Construction”, the big theme is divided into five sub-themes, namely material innovation, building innovation, water building innovation, road innovation, and bridge innovation. the Wisanggeni 19 Team chaired by Suryatama Ageng Pamuji (S-1 Civil Engineering) and accompanied by two members, Eka Nur Wahyu Setyorini (S-1 PTSP) with Silmi Kaffah (D-4 Civil Engineering) submitted an abstract on May 30 2021 with reference to the Building Innovation sub-theme. The title raised by the Wisanggeni 19 Team is Green Resort Modular Planning in the Context of Developing an Ecotourism Area on Wediombo Beach, Gunungkidul.

The title was brought up from a problem that became a concern for Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta students, where it was realized that the increasing population and the dwindling availability of space in urban areas meant that suburban areas such as the coast of Gunungkidul were utilized, one of which was for tourism development. This proposed paper aims to provide alternative eco-friendly resort buildings to respond to potential conflicts of economic interest and environmental conservation, especially at Wediombo Beach, Gunungkidul.

On May 31, 2021, the Wisanggeni 19 Team was declared to have passed the abstract and started carrying out the process of compiling the full green resort modular planning paper. On July 11, 2021, all phase II files have been submitted. With 30 other teams having passed to stage II, only the 10 best teams could make it to the final stage which was announced on July 19, 2021. The Wisanggeni Team 19 representatives of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta were declared to have passed the final stage Together with 9 other teams from Universitas Gajah Mada, Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, Politeknik Pekerjaan Umum, Universitas Udayana, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, Universitas Brawijaya, dan Universitas Negeri Malang.

After experiencing rescheduling several times because of the PPKM being tightened in the areas of Java and Bali, the final of the 2021 Unesa Civil Month Scientific Writing Contest was held on August 23, 2021, with Zoom media. In the final stage of the judging, it was decided that the three teams that had the right to win the 2021 Unesa Civil Month Scientific Writing Competition were the Anandya Team (Universitas Gajah Mada) in first place, the Dipo Katsu Team (Universitas Diponegoro) in second place, and the Wisanggeni 19 Team (Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta) in third position.
