The Bachelor of Civil Engineering Study Program on June 17th 2020, has held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Joint Research with the Department of Civil Engineering Beihang University. The activity was attended by Prof. Zhengguo GAO (Beihang University), Dr. Ir. Slamet Widodo, S.T., M.T. (JPTSP FT UNY), Faqih Ma'arif, M.Eng., Cand. Ph.D. (Beihang University/JPTSP FT UNY). The joint research that was held was entitled "Finite Element Modeling on the Flexural Behavior of Composite Precast Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Lightweight Aggregate Concrete Slab". From the results of the FGD it was agreed that research activities were divided into two, namely laboratory experimental research conducted at JPTSP FT UNY and Research with Finite Element Analysis conducted at the Department of Civil Engineering Beihang University.

Prof. Zhengguo GAO welcomed the collaboration initiated by the Civil Engineering Study Program, JPTSP FT UNY. He hopes that this research collaboration will not only last this year but will continue in the years to come. Apart from that, Prof. GAO also offered a guest lecture (visiting professor) in one of the courses in the Civil Engineering Study Program. This FGD activity ended with the approval of the signing of the MOU between the Department of Civil Engineering and Planning Education.
