BIMASENA ANGGAJAYA TEAM WINS 2nd CHAMPION IN THE BRIDGE DESIGN COMPETITION ECIVE 2023 INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI NASIONAL

Yogyakarta - The Department of Civil Engineering and Planning Education, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta again won achievements at the national level. This is proven by winning the championship in the design of bridge structures with a span of 80 meters. The Bimasena Anggajaya Team from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, which consisted of three students, namely Muhammad Zaky Faishal, Wahyu Mari Yunita, and Diva Salsa Rohalya with supervisor Maris Setyo Nugroho, M.Eng won 2nd place in the Bridge Design Competition Ecive 2023. The title was raised by the Bimasena Anggajaya team is an Alternative Design for the futuristic and iconic Beskalan Bridge to support sustainable development according to the theme carried by this year's competition. The Bimasena Anggajaya team started the competition on March 8 2023 by compiling a proposal as a selection stage for the 5 best teams to take. On April 24 2023, the Bimasena Anggajaya team was declared to have passed the final stage and became one of the finalists who were in first place for the best proposals. There were 5 teams that qualified for the final stage, namely the Bimasena Anggajaya Team (Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta), Acra Team (Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember), Semar Gajendra Team (Universitas Sebelas Maret), Zwageri Zeta Team (Universitas Mulawarman), and Yudhistira Hangar Team. (Universitas Gadjah Mada). The next step is for the Bimasena Anggajaya team to compile a bridge modeling video and prepare a presentation that will take place at the Institut Teknologi Nasional, Malang, East Java. On May 23 2023, the Bimasena Anggajaya team departed for the Institut Teknologi Nasional. On November 24, presentations were held for each team with the assessing jury: Mohammad Erfan, ST., MT. (Lecturer in Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Institut Teknologi Nasional) and Vega Aditama, ST, MT. (Lecturer in Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Institut Teknologi Nasional).

This competition was attended by all universities in Indonesia. The finalist ranking at the Bridge Design Competition Ecive 2023 was won by the Acra Team (Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember) in first place, the Bimasena Anggajaya Team (Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta) in second place, the Semar Gajendra Team (Universitas Sebelas Maret) in third place, the Yudhistira Hangar Team (Universitas Gadjah Mada) in fourth place and the Zwageri Zeta Team (Universitas Mulawarman) in fifth place. With the title won by the Bimasena Anggajaya Team, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, it is hoped that it will create a spirit of creativity, problem solving, and never giving up. In addition, the knowledge gained during the preparation of proposals and presentations is an important capital for students in increasing their knowledge and competence, especially in the field of civil engineering. Congratulations to the Bimasena Anggajaya Team for making a record of their achievements and bringing the name of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta to the national level.
